* On a concert – they stand motionless. You hear a constant roar. In the 1997th one Emo began to shake his head. Later he was disturbed by official Emos and Gots and a half of UN.
* May be they are hiding in virtual world on MySpace, putting their photos on every page, showing how unique they are.
* In public WC they are also hiding there and sing ABBA’s songs, be sure using WC’s. Throw a wet toilet paper, to make them to go out and to stop singing.

There is no mysticism in it. In some Emo groups it’s just accepted to greet representatives of an opposite sex, easily touching strangers with the lips. It is not hygienic. As a result, one person with herpes has only to appear in company so he can quickly infect almost all the others. And the risk of infection is especially high by kissing Emo-pairs who waists quantity of time to this employment
Herpes virus is transmitted by contact way, and also with use subjects. The infection passing by air is also possible. The virus gets into the sensitive nervous conclusions and bases in the genetic system of nervous cells. Later it’s impossible to move away a virus from an organism, it stays with the man for the whole life. But it’s not to be feared – statistically, about 90 % of adult population on a planet are carriers of this virus and only by several percent of them it proves obviously – in other cases the organism successfully struggles with it independently.

Quite another matter that Emo’s organism, exhausted by listening to emotional music and nervous experiences apropos and without cause, not always can adequately resist to herpes. And so, kissing Emos concern special risk group. Take care and be careful in case of personal hygiene!

Regional Department of Education sent circulars to al schools, warning about social danger of this youth stream. The character of these circulars is exceptionally recommending. In the paper is confirmed: every Emo’s dream is to dye in the bath from blood loss after cutting of own vein on wrists. Because of that some of them have bands, hiding got wounds.” Typical appearance of Emo is also described: pink-black dress, bluish-black hair, black nails, pirsing.

A possible base for such circulars can be a letter of director of Federal Security Department in Novgorod area Oleg Hramov to Area Governor Valery Shanceff: the experts of Federal Security Department warn about teenagers’ suicide cases in other regions.
This circular of Department of Education didn’t any stir in Novgorod schools. Many school directors’ opinions are the same: there are representatives of this stream in every school, and everything what the teachers can do is having educational conversations with teenagers.

“We discussed this letter on teachers’ conference – the Director of Novgorod school N30 Lora Antonova said in the interview for “Independent Newspaper” – Now we have not any Emo admirer. Our pupils do not become Emo; Emos are only those teenagers, who come to our school from the others. One such girl learned last year. What do we do? We try to talk to them and are warring because they can sag other pupils.”

The director of the school N91 Igor Bogdanov also appreciates skeptic the effect of such prophylactic measures:” There are two or three of this stream representatives. We talk to them of course but they don’t react. The youth doesn’t react to grown ups’ talking – although we are Emos, fascists, scouts, pioneers. So to say, you are grown ups, you need to talk, so you may talk.”

In my opinion Emos choose wrong name – it would be better to call pioneers or bears – so they’d have nothing for it. The suicide take place not only among Emos, it was also in pioneers’ époque. It is not a question of a belonging to some group, but of the concrete men’s mentality.”

Iren, Moscow: “I have Emo familiars. All of them are very alive, although they are already five years in stream. I think suicide theme is much exaggerated.”

Singel: “We have not to fight , but to watch by our own children. All my life I was a Metallist (and so I am now) and no one felt bad because of it, I was well up brought. I have also Emo familiars; they live quite and disturb nobody (some of them are already 25-26 years old). People choose a style and follow it, and I see nothing wrong in it till the style doesn’t harm to anyone.”

Alex, Sent Petersburg:” Now Federal Security Department as earlier starts to watch by youth subcultures (in face of Department of Education) so they have nothing to do, they called all enemies as friends? So is it? Long hair is to cut. Short hair is to grow, blonde is to become brunette, brunette to blonde, and what is red to do?

AmaZonka:” It seems to me when one likes something, but it’s to forbid, so this hobby will be demonstrated, this is what we run up at least. If Emos will be removed at schools they get somewhere to basements or garrets, so it will only worth.”

Pavel, Krasnodar: “I’m only for parents to pay more attention to their children at the difficult age. So the situation would be much better.”

“I think the most warring aspect of Emo culture is the following impressions “I hate my life”, “I want to dye”, etc” – says Chelli Riddiough, pupil of Madison West High School: “Many people take seriously the expression “I want to cut myself”. It’s not allowed to show private impressions publicly, usual teenagers’ depression is taken as something bad, that’s why our youth joins to Emo stream.”
Like any other subculture Emo is at the same time a musical genre and a kind of style and first of all a way of world perception. The case isn’t only in emotions or its active expressions. If it’d play the main role so Charley Brown and Woody Allen could be concerned to Emo. Happiness, they don’t pass for this definition.

“I have many Emo friends” – tells Alex Policastro, 17-yeared Student of Madison Area Technical College: “I’m indifferent to this culture and I think Emos have very difficult life, a lot of them need psychical help and support of their friends.”

Let’s remind that at the beginning of the 2008th in some cities of Mexico have passed mass demonstrations with participation of members of youth subculture “Emo”, caused disorders which should be removed not without the aid of police. At that time emo just protested against the prejudiced and aggressive relation to them. But, it appears, that they have not pursued their object. However, that fact that Human Rights Commission have paid attention to discrimination of Emo, already speaks about something.

According to plan of the Commission, government organizations must develop the educational program of tolerance and to provide giving of regular explanatory lessons at the Mexican schools. Response to this offer has not followed yet. But Mexican Emo hope that their country becomes the first state in the world, which not simply paid attention to their problems, but also gave so necessary support to them.

In his speech, the deputy director of FBI John Pistol, has gave the following frightening information: “According to our estimations, MS13 already consists of almost 10 000 members, but the gang continues the strengthened recruitment, staking on pupils of secondary and higher schools”. Having heard it, two of our friends who has sons of 12 and 14 years old, have been shaken. We knew that their children learn Spanish, constantly listen to “Punk” and “Gothic” “noise” on their iPod and once they even told one of the girl-friends, the 12 years old girl, about a scene in Washington where Emo arose 20 years ago, and now, again revives, after oblivion.
Emo is a musical genre which units punk, gothic style and emotional hardcore. Emos are accused almost of everything – increasing of a children’s suicide, carrying black clothes, terrible black hair, shabby T-shirts with skulls, depression propagation and wrecking in music, thus stupid doctors even try to treat them, prescribing energizers. Emos are often exposed to sneers and intimidation by the coevals who don’t like their music. But Emos aren’t in need of friends, mobile phones and the Internet allow them to create world of their own and not to feel lonely themselves.

But there is another danger – Emo’s appearance attracts unnecessary attention. Among “Latinos” who appreciate cult of “courage”, the attack of Emo became a condition of joining to gang members. This custom is famous in Mexico, Texas, California here in Washington. Members of gang MS13 take initiation trough torment and outrage of captive Emo-boys and girls in the most awful way, thus the gang also consists of girls from 12 to 20 years old. Suddenly we have understood why suicides took the third place among death reasons of pupils in colleges. Let’s ask ourselves, what do we really know about our children’s life?

The teenage period is the most difficult turning point of our life. The child’s place and role in the world suddenly changes. It becomes difficult to come to understanding with their parents who do not understand them, do not know meaning of many words and expressions which are usual in the teenage society. Children one by one run into their problems.

Often, an arisen vital problem by teenager is so painful, that becoming Emo is the only way out for some of them. Sometimes the child gets thoughts about suicide. The part of suicide attempts occurs spontaneously and careful parents must in time notice guarding changes in behavior of the son or the daughter. Depression, deep sorrow, giving out of personal things is some of them. But, unfortunately, we happen are too busy to notice signs of an approaching trouble.

Someone advises to limit teenagers at home cruelly, the others, on the contrary, suggest to give them more “own space”. There is an opinion among adults that the unsuccessful teenage love affair doesn’t matter, forgetting, that at 15 it can become a main cause of the future tragedy.

And now we all six of us have understood, how stupid is to discuss world problems when we are not able to stop splash of children’s criminality and suicides even in our country. Is not it time for us to start to put in order our own “house”?

Few minutes later music was swithed off by cops. And a main quaestion was asked repeatly. Emo-boy showed their passport and as it turned out there were no registration and temporary registration too. He tried to explain that he came to capital from Detroit last day. And there’s no registration because he trying to beat the army in landing troops.

After that poor boy was taken to pay a fine in the absence of passport’s registration. Emo-lawbreaker assured to policemans that he wouldn’t repeat break the law in a future, otherwise he could’n listen Tokio Hotel with his player.

Hope it will come true.

The first one took place at the beginning of March in the town Queretaro, where f group of aggressive tempered teenagers descended on some Emos directly on central square and beat them sharp. One week later the similar tragedy happened also in Mexico – the capital of Mexico. There a group of Emokids was cached and beat by a band of Punks and football fans at one of underground stations. The eye-witnesses also told about other incidents in Mexico and northern state Durango, connected with beating of Emos, but it hasn’t got an official confirmation.

Who are these sacrifices and why does everybody hate them? The reasons are the same, because Emos in Mexico are alike Emos in USA, Russia and other countries. A special dress, haircut, make up, depressive mood, suicide inclination (obviously exaggerated).

Schwartz thinks hatred of these subculture representatives in Mexico is reasoned by the following: Punks and Gots are sure that Emos with their being threaten existence of their subculture, and real homophobes are certain in Emokids’ untraditional sexual orientation, they are even followed for it: “I hate Emos!!! They aren’t man; they are stupid, they cry in any reason… My school is poisoned by them; I want to kill them all!”

It’s to mention Mexican Emos don’t suffer all misfortunes, hiding and crying in the corners. In Mexico and Guadalajara they organized some protest actions, attracting publicity’s attention to their troubles, calling for tolerantness of other subculture representatives.

The counteracting sides make clear their relations with help of straps beating each other. Because the straps are designed with rivets such blows can be dangerous. Beside the police protesting and aggressive crowd is also calmed down by monk-crishnaits, who are singing songs just in the center of the main square of Queretaro.
